Here are some tips for managing your broken tooth.Rinse Out Your MouthYou want to make certain that nothing is getting down into the crack or working its way into the break in your tooth. After every meal or snack, rinse out your mouth to get rid of any food particles that may be stuck near the tooth. You can use any time of water, including saline, or you can make a mouthwash out of equal parts hydrogen peroxide and water. Control Any Swelling or BleedingIn some cases, especially if the broken tooth was caused by trauma to the head or face, you may experience some swelling or bleeding. You can hold ice to the exterior of your face to help reduce the swelling. For bleeding, carefully hold a piece of gauze within your mouth near the broken tooth. Be sure to replace it regularly if it is soaking up a lot of blood. |
