Fixing Your Smile's Spacing Problem

Poorly spaced teeth are difficult to clean and can wear down prematurely if they aren't properly aligned with the other jaw, not to mention the fact that they usually leave you with an uneven smile. You deserve to feel good about your smile, and your dentist can offer some solutions to fix these unsightly spacing issues.

Dental Braces

Braces are one of the most traditional and effective ways to treat problems with spacing in your mouth. You are likely familiar with this option, as it consists of stainless steel wires and metal brackets in order to move the teeth into their desired position. Some braces can even be fixed to the back of the teeth.

Invisalign

A demand for more discreet teeth straightening options led to the creation of Invisalign. This system involves clear, plastic aligners that will move the teeth into their intended position. It is intended for less severe cases of crowding and spacing problems.

Bridges and Crowns

If your teeth are damaged in addition to being poorly spaced, bridges and crowns might be suggested. For example, if a gap is caused by a tooth that is chipped, broken, or missing, a bridge or crown can fix the spacing issue.

Dental Veneers

Veneers are tooth coverings that can correct a variety of cosmetic concerns, including the shape, size, and color of your teeth. If you have small gaps, veneers may be able to close them in. However, this solution will only be beneficial for very minor spacing problems and won't do much to correct crowding of the teeth.

If you are concerned about the appearance of your smile due to spacing problems, the first thing you should do is contact our dental office. He can discuss possible options to help you get the smile of your dreams.
