About Dr. McGiffinI grew up in Lakewood, WA, and currently live in Greenacres, WA. I did undergrad at BYU-Provo and Eastern Washington University. I went to dental school in Glendale, AZ. My wife, Mary, and I have 6 children, 1 boy and 5 girls. My passions outside of dentistry are my family, music, and sports. I also lived in the southern France for 2 years as a missionary. Education & TrainingDr. Ben McGiffin earned his dental degree from Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine after earning his Bachelor's degree from Pierce College in Lakewood, WA. Dr. McGiffin also earned his Bachelor's in Dental Hygiene from Eastern Washington University. He practiced dental hygiene in western Washington, Spokane, and Arizona, He has been practicing dentistry at Northview Family Dental since 2023, treating patients throughout eastern Washington and northern Idaho. Awards & AssociationsDr. McGiffin is currently a member of the American Dental Association, Washington State Dental Association, Spokane District Dental Society, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the Academy of Laser Dentistry. He was awarded the Academy of General Dentistry Senior Student Award and the American Student Dental Association Award of Excellence from Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine, Arizona. JUST FOR FUN!What is one thing that makes you stand out from other providers?: I would say the fact that I was a dental hygienist for several years before becoming a dentist is what makes me stand out. Also, many patients have told me I have a calming demeanor and that I seem gentle but thorough. Favorite Drink: Flavored lemonades Pineapple on Pizza (yes or no): Yes, but with white sauce only Favorite Show: Parks and Rec Favorite Dessert: Chocolate Cream Pie Favorite musical Artist: Mumford and Sons Favorite Dental Procedure to perform: Procedures that get people out of pain like root canals and crowns and extractions.
