Dentures Spokane, WA
We are passionate about the relationship between the quality of life and oral health here at NorthView Family Dental. We understand how big of a difference it can make when you begin to lose teeth. Food becomes difficult to chew, you start to have a hard time pronouncing words, and most tragically, your desire to smile wanes. The loss of even a single tooth can have a dramatic effect on your quality of life, but the loss of most/all of your teeth can be truly devastating. At NorthView Family Dental we want all of our patients to have access to tooth replacement options that can dramatically improve their quality of life. Partial and full dentures are a great way to give you back the look and (much of) the function of real teeth.
What are dentures?Dentures are a removable tooth replacement options that allow patients to regain most of the usefulness of their natural teeth. Partial dentures are made to replace anywhere from one to several consecutive missing teeth. Full dentures allow patients that have experienced full tooth loss or nearly full tooth loss, a way to replace all of their teeth. While partial dentures must usually be removed to eat, full dentures restore the ability to eat most of the foods that you once enjoyed.
Partial DenturesPartial dentures are a great way to restore the look and feel of a few missing teeth. Usually, partial dentures are held in place using wire clasps that anchor them to the surrounding, healthy teeth. Partial dentures must be removed to eat, sleep and for cleaning. When a gap in your teeth leaves you self-conscious, or unwilling to smile, partial dentures can restore your confidence in your smile.
Full dentures give patients great, cost-effective solution to tooth loss. They restore the look and feel of real teeth and restore your ability to eat most foods. Dentures must be held in place with dental adhesive, which must be applied daily. There are a variety of dentures that can be held in place using the support of dental implants.
Getting Fitted for DenturesIt requires several trips to our office to have dentures made. During the first visit, we will discuss what you would like to accomplish with your dentures and what options are available to you. We will take x-rays and impressions of your mouth to craft dentures that will fit in your mouth perfectly. Once crafted, you will return to our office so that we can check the dentures to see how they fit in your mouth. Denture CareDentures must be removed for cleaning and during the night, while you sleep. Whenever removing your dentures for storage, make sure to place them in liquid as they are made to stay wet. Never place dentures in direct sunlight as this can result in the material warping and a change in the way they fit in your mouth. If you ever notice a change in the way your dentures fit in your mouth, call us right away at (509) 590-1763 and we will do our best to alter them so that they are comfortable.
