Baby Teeth Comfort Tips

Posted on 3/8/2021 by Robert Leale
Baby Teeth Comfort TipsYour newborn has 20 teeth under the gum line. Before you know it, your cheerful baby becomes fussy and drools consistently. When your baby starts teething, it can become challenging. Contrary to popular belief, teething does not cause fever or diarrhea. If your baby has a temperature above 100.4, you should immediately get in touch with a doctor. However, if everything is normal, your newborn will be fussy for some time. Here are our 3 tips to soothe your child during teething.

Massage the Gums

Applying pressure to your baby's gums can help reduce pain. However, be careful not to touch the part from where the teeth are about to grow. Gently rub your fingers on the front of your baby's gums, which will help soothe the fussiness. This might also help your baby fall asleep.

Freeze Milk Popsicles

There are plenty of ways to comfort baby teeth, but the best ones include nutrition. Freeze your breast milk or formula in BPA free Popsicle foam. These popsicles can be messy when they start to melt, so place a bib on your baby. You will find it smart to have your infant eat these as they comfort gums and provide food.

Chew On Washcloth

Get a clean washcloth and soak it in water. Squeeze it till the excess water is out and the washcloth is damp. Put it in the freezer for an hour or so, and have your baby chew on it. However, you should never leave your baby unattended if they are chewing on anything. This can lead to choking hazards and other problems.

You should start caring about your baby's teeth as soon as one starts appearing from the gum. It's best to wash your baby's teeth before bed with a damp cloth to protect them from bacteria. Moreover, you should visit the dentist as soon as possible for expert advice and a proper care regime. If there are any problems, your dentist will advise you before it gets worse.
