Signs You Need to Brush More Effectively

Posted on 2/20/2019 by Robert Leale
Signs You Need to Brush More EffectivelyIt is something you learn at an early age. One of the keys to avoiding cavities is to brush your teeth every day. Despite following this rule, you may still run into problems with your teeth and gums.

You wonder why this happens if you did what you thought you should do. While you may brush daily you might not do it as effectively as you should. It is important to know the signs of not brushing effectively and what you can do to change it.

What to Look For?
Just because you brush your teeth regularly, does not always mean you are doing it right. Instead of assuming that you know how to follow a good oral hygiene routine, learn some signs that you could improve whatever you are doing.

•  Your Breath Stinks - If you are not brushing effectively, the bacteria on your teeth and gums will grow. These bacteria can cause bad breath. Chronic bad breath that does not go away is a sign that you need to find out how to brush your teeth more effectively.
•  The Color Changes - If you are not brushing your teeth effectively, it is difficult to maintain that beautiful white smile. You can correct stains and discolored teeth by learning how to brush better.
•  Loss of Strength - If you find it more difficult to chew some foods, it could come from your teeth not being as strong as they used to be. Ineffective brushing could cause this issue.
•  Bleeding gums - If you have bleeding gums it could come from the build-up of bacteria on the teeth and gums. If you do not brush properly, this is often the result.
•  Finding Debris In between the teeth If you are constantly picking debris out of your teeth, it could come from not brushing and flossing well enough.

More About Bleeding Gums

Bleeding gums can come from not brushing effectively in two ways. It can come from the build-up of plaque, but it can also come from not brushing properly. Some may think it is a result of brushing too often. This is not the real reason. It is usually due to a toothbrush that is worn out or whose bristles are too hard. It also can come from brushing too hard. It is possible to eliminate most of the problems that come from ineffective brushing by learning better technique and a better routine.
