Fluoride therapies, such as those found in tubes of toothpaste, mouthwashes, and fluoride treatments, seem to be just as crucial in preventing dental decay as they are in preventing tooth decay in growing teeth, according to a recent study. When your child first develops teeth, the medical clinic where you take them may advise you to have your child undergo treatments with topical fluoride so that the child's teeth are protected against cavities. These therapies will take place at the physician's office. This may be done anywhere from twice to four times a year. The number of procedures required will be proportional to the severity of the cavity risk that your kid faces.
Fluoride Is Important for Developing Teeth
The potential of acids to culminate teeth is diminished when fluoride is incorporated into teeth when they are developing into their permanent forms. Fluoride's effects are cumulative. In addition, fluoride has been shown to hasten the process of bone growth and to inhibit the production of acid in the teeth of both adults and children. This effect is shown in both age groups.
