Dangers of Putting Off Problems with Your Teeth

Posted on 4/10/2017 by Robert Leale
A woman suffering from tooth pain!
We get it. Going to the dentist is hard. You are a busy, busy person, and it just does not fit into your schedule. Besides that, there is money involved, maybe a little bit of fear. Let's say, though, that there is a problem.

You should not postpone it! We are here to help, and the sooner we can get you taken care of, the better it will be for not only your oral health, but also your health as a whole, your stress, and your pain (should there be any).

It may inconvenience you slightly, but in the end, it will be well worth it.

What Could Go Wrong?
If you find that you have a cavity, but you postpone going to the dentist's office, any number of things could go wrong. That little cavity may cause a whole lot of ache and pain that it does not need to. As the decay worsens, more nerve endings are exposed, and more pain will flare. The decay can also cause gum disease, which, if left untreated, can cause other systems in your body to be affected negatively, and could lead to tooth loss.

Also, what might be an inconvenience now might be a lot worse later. For example, a filling is much less time consuming (and wallet draining) than the root canal or tooth extraction that it could become when left alone for too long. Besides that, the decay you experience can lead to severe halitosis, or awful breath. It is a definite turn-off to others around you, and not the first impression you want to make.

We understand that it is not easy to come in, but we hope that you find the time to get your problem taken care of as soon as you possibly can. When left alone, there is the potential for that problem to get exponentially worse, and it does not take very long to do so.

Take care of yourself, and your teeth, and contact our office to schedule an appointment today to get that filling you've been dreading, or even just a check-up to make sure everything is in tip-top shape.
