Start Your Day off Right with a Tooth-Healthy Breakfast

You've probably been told that breakfast is the most important meal of the day a ton of times throughout your life. It's true - eating a healthy breakfast will give you the energy boost needed to power you through your day.
However, in addition to choosing healthy foods, you should also be considering which food items are going to best benefit your oral health.
Choose Ripe Fruits
Ripe, firm fruits are the best option for your breakfast, as fruits that aren't quite ripe will tend to be more acidic and have higher sugar content. Crunchy fruits are especially good options, as they have a high water content that will boost the flow of saliva in your mouth.
Get Your Protein Eggs are a great option for breakfast because they are high in protein. Additionally, they are a great source of the vitamin D needed to absorb tooth-friendly calcium. If you are scrambling some eggs, adding in spinach, peppers, or other vegetables can spice up your breakfast while also gaining some extra nutritional value.
Have a Serving of Dairy It is important to try and get a serving of dairy added into your breakfast. This could be a glass of milk, a cup of yogurt, or a slice or two of cheese. The calcium found in dairy will build strong bones and teeth.
Ditch the Sugary Breakfast Items
Cereals that are loaded with sugar should be avoided for a tooth-healthy breakfast, and you should also ditch the donuts or muffins. Since sugars in the mouth can be converted into harmful acids in only 20 minutes, avoiding these items will protect your teeth.
